On The Dot

Polkadots are always in style! They can make an extremely bold statement, or be sweet and subtle depending on how you wear them. Something about wearing dots gives off an amazing 1940's vintage vibe that instantly transports you into a scene from "The Notebook" (maybe thats just me?).  I love their classic and fun look that is as equally timeless as it is trendy, polkadots are definitely the perfect pattern for spring. Effortlessly girly and appropriate for all ages dots are on the dot for spring fashion.

Waddle Waddle!

Effortless, practical, cozy, and...fashionable?
Yes fashionable. Duck boots add the perfect amount of preppy to any outfit. Don't let their all-purpose, weather resistant facade keep you from seeing the true cuteness that these boots have to offer.

They even graced the runway in the Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2010 show. Paired with classic pieces the boots were the perfect shoe.

When planning an outfit to go with your boots there really isn't any way to go wrong. The best thing to do is think cozy. Start with a pair of warm knit socks to scrunch over the top, then add a pair of jeans, an oversized sweater and its that easy.

If you are looking for a more polished look these boots will work as well. Add tights, a circle skirt, and a blouse and the duck boots keep it fun and casual.

Any way you decide to wear them it's very hard to go wrong with these classic boots. Whether you plan on hiking through the snow or just walking around the mall duck boots are the perfect shoe for the winter months.

deck the halls from head to toe: sparkly skirts

The holiday season is all about spending time with loved ones, and spreading lots happiness and joy...oh and of course the festive holiday fashion! Ok so clothes are not the most important thing about the holidays, but lets face it everyone wants to look good while seeing friends and family. The wintery and fun fashions for this time of year are just too cute to pass up.

One of my favorite things this season is sparkles!
A fun sparkly mini skirt is an easy way to make any outfit a showstopper. Pair it with a t shirt and a blazer and you have your look.

Because the skirt is such a statement the rest of your outfit should be very simple and understated. A cozy, casual sweater is the perfect complement for such a dressy skirt. The sweater adds an effortless look to the outfit while keeping it very fun!
A slightly unexpected pairing is the lumberjack shirt. Yes, a flannel can be a perfect pairing for a sparkly skirt. When styled correctly it can become a preppy and classy outfit. Add a chunky necklace to complete the look.

No matter how you wear it a sparkly mini is shore to impress this season. Happy Styling!

Spring Trends: Accent Nails

Something trendy to try out this season is an accent nail. To achieve this look simply paint one nail on each hand a different color than the rest, or add glitter, or a design (I like to choose my ring finger like in the photo).  By doing this you add something fun and unexpected to a simple manicure, and it is sure to be a conversation starter! This look isn't for everyone but I think it is soo soo cute and I definitely recommend you try it out.

To the Max-i

For spring and summer this year, more is definitely more. Swap your short skirts and mini dresses (although we still love those too) for a more modern and classy look, the maxi! The effortless silhouette of a maxi skirt is perfect for achieving that casual yet put together look we all strive for. Maxis have long been known for their boho vibe and very laid back feel, however, they can also be dressed up to encompass a sophisticated and put together ensemble. So whether your boho chic, girly, or classic the maxi skirt will definitely be a staple piece in your wardrobe this season.

Black and White

I love this crisp and classic look. Black and white is always in style and recently I have been drawn to its simple yet stunning elegance. My favorite way to wear this classic combination is with a bright pop of color in my accessories. Paring a black and white dress with red patent leather pumps as Emma Roberts does in the picture to the right is a very easy way to spice up a simple outfit. Black and white creates a clean canvas for you to play up with your accessories. Shoes, bags, belts, hats, jackets, sunglasses, jewelry etc., when you are wearing black and white you can let the accessories shine.
Happy accessorizing!

Fall Nail Polishes

Fall is finally here! The crisp cold air circling around us, the sweet smell of pumpkin pie filling the room, leaves on the ground, and of course our favorite fall colors painted on our nails! I am usually not one to like dark colors on my nails, however, this season I am absolutely loving the grey, muddy colors of fall. OPI's new collection "Touring America" seems to have the perfect blend of deep colors and fun brights perfect for the season!

These other great colors from OPI are some more of my top pics for fall nail poliish
(You Don't Know Jacques, Over The Taupe, Fiji Wiji Fawn, Parlez-vous)
So it's time to trade in those summer pastels and brights for some deep and dark taupes for fall!
